Library Bound Exhibition

You will be delighted to know that the first public showing was set up at Pennant Hills Library on 18th June by Anne Eagar and Jean Riley.  Graham Stone will be at the library on 21st June to demonstrate sewing of book sections. The exhibits have all been loaned by members or form some of the resources held by the Guild.



Shelf 1     Multicultural scrolls, Japanese concertina, Nag Hammadi tacket binding and islamic flap binding, coptic binding.

Shelf 2     Classical bindings ranging from carolingian, girdle binding and examples of skeleton bindings sewn onto cords/tapes and laced onto boards with/without bands, full and half leather bindings, repairs to bindings and re-back to  one design binding.

Shelf 3    Modern bindings. Star, piano, recycled, dos a dos, pamphlet binding, miniatures.

Shelf 4    Tools, silk, linen, leathers, takes, threads, metallic foil, pure gold foil, paste papersand so on.
